LO4: Review Of Assets

 

This is the banner for the top of the contents page in the magazine. The banner has been of first a black box which has then had a text box placed inside it which I have filled with the title. The font is called ACE SANS I have then aligned both of the text boxes and increased the thickness of the last text box to give the banner a bit of variation, the banner stretches across the entirety of the page. I have chosen white for the text because it provides a good stark contrast compared to the black of the background. The banner includes both the name of the magazine as well as the title of the individual page.

This is another graphic that I have made. I have made the asset by first placing the placeholder text in the box. I then deleted the coverlines and replaced them with the actual final text. Then I added a background to the page but I found that it was harder to read the text on the page so I added a white box with a low opacity which meant that I could then place this behind the text and then I found that I could read the text in the box a lot better. I also added the blur effect to the box to make sure that I got the desired effect. This helps with keeping in the theme of simplistic for the magazine

This is one of the other graphics that I have made for my magazine. The image is in the bottom left of the page. I have first edited the image and I have then achieved the fading effect by masking out parts of the image using opacity and and changing the flow of the brush. I have then added a low opacity black box which contains the page number. I have done this so that the page number stands out from the rest of the page. The simple design of the asset means that it fits into the style of the magazine as well as being a functional asset for the magazine.

This is the banner for the top of the front cover. I have used the colour pallete to create the banner. The banner uses muted colours to make sure that the banner does not detract from the rest of the page making sure that the reader does not get distracted by other elements of the page. Keeping with the simple simplistic style of the magazine.

This is one of the text boxes on the main dps of my magazine I have created these boxes so that the text on the page can be more clearly read and stands out compared to the rest of the elements on the page. I have made the box by using a low opacity white box which I have added a stroke border to. This allows me to clearly define the end and the beginning for the text box.

This is the main image on the dps page of the magazine. The image is of the result of the recipe. The image has been taken using a high angle and using natural light for lighting. I have edited the image slightly by adding more contrast and colour to the image to make it pop out more on the page. The image using a lot of bold vibrant colours to serve as a centerpiece on the page. I have cropped the image to make sure that It will fit onto the page correctly  and allows me to keep with the simplistic style and theme of the magazine.

This is the another one of the banners that I have made for the magazine the banner is comprised of an image that stretches across the entire page. The image has been taken using a close up shot so that I could capture the most detail in the image. I have then cropped and increased the brightness of the image using the dodge and the burn tool this allowed me to show off the details in the image such as making the red cherry in the image pop out more on the page. This type of image helps the magazine to fit with the genre of a professional cooking magazine.

This is a collection of 3 images that are down the side of my contents page I have cropped the image to make sure that they are all the same width and height, doing this adds the effect of another column to the page. It also shows what else will be inside the magazine. The photos have been taken using a variety of different angles creating more interesting images for the reader. I have also brightened the images in photoshop as well as adding vibrance to the photos. The column effect helps to reinforce the simplistic look that I am going for with the magazine.
